It was established in 1982 with just 6 franchises, but later expanded to his current level of 10. The team with the most championship titles of the Kia Tigers only 11, and the most recent champions are the Doosan Bears. For the 2020 season, the top five teams in the KBO League included NC, LG, Doosan, Kiwoom, and KIA. The bottom 5 teams in the league for 2020 Season included: Samsung, Lotte, KT, SK, and Hanwha.

The most recent addition to the winners arena is the Melbourne Aces with their first title. The ABL was founded in 2010, and features players from New Zealand and Australia. In fact, players from across Oceania get to showcase their talent in this premier baseball league. The season runs from November through February every year.
The 8 teams are divided up into the Australian Baseball League South-West (Adelaide Giants, Melbourne Aces, Perth Heat, Geelong-Korea), and the Australian Baseball League North-East (Auckland Tuatara, Canberra Cavalry, Brisbane Bandits, and Sydney Blue Sox).
