The Southern 500® forms part of the NASCAR Cup Series. This prestigious racing extravaganza ranks high on the annual calendar. Scheduled for the Labor Day weekend every year, the Southern 500® has been going strong since 1950.
The racing meet is held at the world-famous Darlington Raceway, in South Carolina. In 2020, the Southern 500, as part of the NASCAR Cup Series was preceded by the NASCAR Xfinity Series at the same venue.
