The Harlem Wizards were created in 1962 by Howie Davis, a legendary sports promoter. His vision for a basketball team was very different to the norm. Howie wanted to merge entertainment and sports, which pretty much every NBA basketball team already does, but the Wizards do it in a unique way. He wanted to do better than the Harlem Globetrotters, so he created the Harlem Wizards.
